Cosmetic Dentist & Implant Surgeon
Mr Samintharaj Kumar is our oral implantologist. He is dually qualified in Medicine and Dentistry and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Ireland.
He successfully places dental implants with a very high success rate and has been trained by renowned world experts. He currently limits his private practice to advanced dental implantology, complex bone augmentation procedures and Facial Rejuvenation. Mr Kumar is a mentor for dentists learning implantology, facial rejuvenation and intravenous sedation.
During medical and dental school he has won a number of prizes for academic merit including the Drummond and Frank Scott Prize for overall performance in preclinical medicine, received awards from the British Association of Plastic Surgeons, British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, The Royal College of Physicians and The Wellcome Trust. He has had further training in Anaesthetics & Intensive Care, Vascular Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Accident & Emergency, Neurosurgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT and General Surgery as part of his medical and surgical training prior to returning to his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training position in London.
Mr Kumar lectures on the International Qualifying Examination Course at the Eastman Dental Institute and is a Honorary Clinical Lecturer at University of Central Lancashire for the MSc programme in Facial Aesthetics. He currently examines for the General Dental Council's Overseas Registration Examination, National Examining Board for Dental Nurses, the Royal College of Surgeons of England Licentiate in Dental Surgery. Mr Kumar is also a mentor for the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthetics in Dentistry. He has taught junior maxillofacial doctors on the Dentist on the Ward courses in Lincoln and Birmingham. He has published papers in internationally peer reviewed journals.
During his training towards a career in Maxillofacial Surgery, he has had extensive specialist exposure to the field of Non-Surgical Aesthetic Rejuvenation. His training has been acquired through courses with specialists in the non-surgical industry and has successfully performed such treatments for the past four years. He now trains doctors and dentists on how to inject Botox and Dermal Fillers.
Mr Kumar is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist Registrar and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy(PhD) in Craniofacial Molecular Biology at the Institute of Child Health, University College London.
He is a member of several prestigious institutions including: the Association of Dental Implantology, British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Royal College of Surgeons in England and Ireland, Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Specialist interests include Smile Makeovers, Dental Implants, Invisalign, Botox, Dermal Fillers for anti-wrinkle treatment, Sculptra, Anti-perspiration treatment, Nervous patients, Intravenous Sedation, Anti-Snoring treatment and Chemical Peels for Facial Rejuvenation.
In addition, he sees patients privately for wisdom teeth and difficult extractions.
