Dr
Samintharaj Kumar graduated in Dentistry from Singapore in 2001. During this undergraduate period, he was the 1st South-East Asian recipient for the David B. Scott Research Fellowship Award (International Association for Dental Research)
He spent his final year elective of his medical degree in the Craniofacial Unit at The Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto, Canada. During medical school he won a number of prizes for academic merit including the Drummond and Frank Scott Prize for overall performance in preclinical medicine, received awards from the British Association of Plastic Surgeons, British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, The Royal College of Physicians and The Wellcome Trust.
Dr Kumar had further training in Anaesthetics & Intensive Care, Vascular Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Accident & Emergency, Neurosurgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT and General Surgery as part of his medical and surgical training prior to returning to his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training position in London.
During his training towards a career in Maxillofacial Surgery, he has had extensive specialist exposure to the field of Non-Surgical Aesthetic Rejuvenation. His training has been acquired through courses with specialists in the non-surgical industry and has successfully performed such treatments for the past four years. He now trains doctors and dentists on how to inject Botox and Dermal Fillers. Dr Kumar has successfully placed dental
implants with a very high success rate and has been
trained by renowned world experts.
Dr Kumar also lectures on the International Qualifying Examination Course at the Eastman. He is currently an Examiner for the General Dental Council’s Overseas Registration Examination. He has taught junior maxillofacial doctors on the Dentist on the Ward courses in Lincoln and Birmingham. He has published papers in internationally peer reviewed journals and is currently writing a medical book. Additionally he was also a member of the teaching faculty of the Millimetre Perfect Aesthetic Training courses for Botox and Fillers. Dr Kumar is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Specialist Registrar. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy(D Phil) in Craniofacial Molecular Genetics at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford.
Specialist interests include Smile Makeovers, Dental Implants, Invisalign, Botox, Dermal Fillers for anti-wrinkle treatment, Sculptra, Anti-perspiration treatment, Nervous patients, Intravenous Sedation, Anti-Snoring treatment and Chemical Peels for Facial Rejuvenation.
In addition, he sees patients privately for wisdom teeth and difficult extractions.
